When unfortunate events accompanied with peer pressure from the school bully, Junior and his two friends go to where they believe the creature resides and set out to get proof that it exists

Nalb Noum (2023) delivers a familiar creature/monster story on the surface while having an underlying story that speaks about the many social issues that plague our society. The project is directed and written by a young talented black director, staffed by gifted black artists and many other skilled diverse individuals. This story is for everyone and is a part of all of us. Join us on this journey filled with independent filmmakers/artists and students of cinema in creating a story that will be impactful in communities nationwide and worldwide.

THE HISTORY

Whilst beginning to develop this story, our writer and director, Xzaviah J. Stone Sr. did an immense amount of research on West African history and Black Culture in the United States.

In America, there is plenty to talk about when it comes to stereotypes and culture appropriation, especially when it comes to black people and black culture. I wanted to attack that in a unique way when it comes to storytelling. I wanted to properly represent black people of all cultures in this story. The research done was based on making sure everyone felt properly represented. This doesn’t represent one person or group of people in the Black community but represents a situation or understanding that we all in the black community share. Nalb Noum is more than just a creature horror, it is a horror that embodies a common fear, we in the black community have every time we step outside into main society.
